Illumino: I give light.

Illumino is Latin for “I light up”. It is our name and our calling: to bring light, in word and in deed, to people in dark places.

Who we are

Illumino is an evangelical Christian charity: a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO), registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 31 July 2026 under charity number 1219075. It is a foundation CIO, governed by its trustees, who are responsible for its work and its money and report each year to the Charity Commission.

Our purposes

Our constitution sets out two charitable purposes, which are also our objects on the public register:

  1. To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the organisation’s statements of belief, including but not limited to: educating people about the religion, pastoral care and outreach, and raising awareness of religious beliefs and practices.
  2. To prevent or relieve poverty, suffering and distress anywhere in the world by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or to charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

Where we work

Throughout England and Wales, and abroad, wherever there is need.

Keeping people safe

Some of the people we help, and some of the people who help us, could be put at risk by being identified. So we do not publish their names, pictures or stories on this website, and we ask everyone who works with us to take the same care.

Statement of Belief. Our Statement of Belief will be published here once our constitution is finalised.
