Our work · Faith and outreach
Faith, shared freely.
Our first purpose is to advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public. We are evangelical Christians, and we do it by teaching, by caring for people, and by going out to meet them.
Evangelical faith
Illumino is an evangelical Christian charity. We hold the Bible to be God’s word, and we believe the good news of Jesus Christ is for everyone. That good news is what we teach, and it is the reason we serve.
Teaching
We help people learn what Christians believe and why: through study, conversation and clear, honest material that anyone can read, whatever their background.
Pastoral care
Faith is lived in real lives, and real lives get hard. We offer care and a listening ear to people facing difficulty, loss or isolation, including those who have paid a price for what they believe.
Outreach
We go where people are, rather than waiting for them to find us. Outreach means meeting people with kindness and practical help, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with anyone who wants to hear it.
Understanding beliefs and practice
We raise awareness of religious beliefs and practices, so that people understand one another better. Understanding is the ground on which respect, and freedom, are built.
Our Statement of Belief will be published here once our constitution is finalised. Everything Illumino teaches is in accordance with it.
